Webrings are a group effort led by someone where everyone participating agrees to link to each other, mainly for the sake of increasing discoverability of similar sites. Most webrings have a certain theme or requirement to join, and almost all of them require a participating website to host a widget that maintains the links to the other sites of the webring.
